Introduction

Welcome to ProbaBaby. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our baby prediction application.

By using ProbaBaby, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

• Account Information: Email address, name, and password when you create an account.
• Photos: Parent photos you upload for predictions. Photos are transmitted over HTTPS to Google Gemini Vision (Google LLC) via our Supabase Edge Function for facial feature analysis, and to Runware (with Replicate and Fal.AI as fallbacks) for baby image generation. Original photos are deleted immediately after analysis; only derived feature values and the final prediction are retained.
• Genetic Trait Data: Information you provide about physical traits such as eye color, hair color, and other genetic characteristics.
• Health & Wellness Data: Mood check-in entries, sleep quality data, symptom selections, postpartum recovery progress, and EPDS screening scores that you voluntarily log. This data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your encrypted cloud account.
• Baby Growth Data: Weight, length, and head circumference measurements you enter for your baby, along with milestone tracking selections.
• Fertility & Cycle Data: Menstrual cycle dates, cycle length, and related fertility tracking information you choose to enter.
• Emergency Profile Data: Medical conditions, allergies, blood type, and healthcare provider information you optionally provide for the Emergency Birth feature. This data is stored locally on your device.
• Vaccination Records: Vaccine administration dates and notes you log for tracking your baby's vaccination schedule.
• 3D Face Scan Data: If you use the LiDAR face scanning feature, depth map data is captured temporarily using your device's TrueDepth or LiDAR sensor via Apple's ARKit framework. This data is processed on-device and on our servers to enhance facial feature extraction for predictions. Depth data is not stored after processing is complete.
• Usage Data: How you interact with the app, features used, prediction history, and anonymous analytics data collected via Firebase Analytics.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting.
• Payment Data: Transaction records for credit purchases (payment details handled by App Store).

How We Use Your Data

• Generate predictions by processing your photos and genetic data through our AI
• Display your logged health and wellness data, generate progress views, and provide awareness information
• Plot your baby's measurements against WHO growth standards and display percentile information
• Calculate and display EPDS screening scores (never shared with third parties)
• Show relevant vaccination schedules, emergency contacts, and support resources for your selected region
• Analyze anonymous usage patterns via Firebase Analytics to enhance features and user experience
• Manage your account, credits, and prediction history
• Send important updates about your account or our service
• Respond to your questions and provide customer support

Data Storage & Security

We take the security of your data seriously. While we implement strong security measures, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but strive to protect your data to the best of our ability.

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
• Photos and personal data are stored on secure, encrypted servers
• We use Supabase as our backend provider with enterprise-grade security
• Access to your data is strictly controlled and limited to essential operations
• We regularly review and update our security practices
• Crash logs and error reports are collected via Firebase Crashlytics to improve app stability

Photo Processing

• Photos are transmitted over HTTPS to our servers
• They are processed solely to generate your requested prediction: facial features are extracted by Google Gemini Vision (Google LLC), and the resulting traits are used to generate baby images via Runware (with Replicate and Fal.AI as automatic fallbacks)
• Original parent photos are deleted immediately after Gemini analysis returns — only the derived feature values and the final prediction image are retained
• You can delete your photos and prediction history at any time from Settings > Privacy & Data, or by deleting your account
• Photos are never used for AI model training, advertising, identification, biometric authentication, or any purpose other than generating the prediction you requested
• Photos are never sold to data brokers and are never used for cross-app tracking

Health Data Handling

Health and wellness data you enter in ProbaBaby (mood logs, sleep data, symptoms, EPDS scores, baby measurements, cycle data) is considered sensitive personal data. We handle this data with particular care.

ProbaBaby does not connect to Apple HealthKit or any electronic health record system. All health data exists only within ProbaBaby.

• Health data is encrypted at rest and in transit
• Health data is never shared with third parties for advertising or marketing
• Health data is never used for AI model training
• Health data is never sold to data brokers
• You can delete all health data at any time from Privacy Settings
• Upon account deletion, all health data is permanently removed
• We do not use health data to make automated decisions about you

Biometric and Facial Data

ProbaBaby may process a photograph or an optional 3D facial scan that you voluntarily upload in order to generate an AI baby-appearance prediction. The image is transmitted over HTTPS to our prediction service, powered by Google Gemini Vision (operated by Google LLC). We do not retain the original image on our servers after analysis; only the derived facial feature values and your final prediction result are stored, associated with your account. Google processes submitted images under the Gemini API terms and, for our paid API access, does not use the content for advertising, identification, or foundation-model training. You can delete your prediction history and account at any time from Settings > Privacy & Data. We do not use your face data for identification, advertising, biometric authentication, or any purpose other than generating the prediction you have explicitly requested.

If you choose the optional Depth Scan capture method on a supported iPhone (iPhone X or newer with a TrueDepth front camera), ProbaBaby collects a 3D facial mesh (1,220 vertices) and derived measurements using Apple's ARKit ARFaceTrackingConfiguration API. This data is used exclusively to improve the accuracy of the AI baby-appearance prediction you have requested. The 3D mesh and measurements are not transmitted to Google Gemini or any third party; they are processed on-device and combined with feature output from the Gemini API on our Supabase backend. Mesh data is stored locally on your device within the app sandbox, excluded from iCloud backup, and deleted when you delete the associated prediction or your account. We do not use TrueDepth data for Face ID, biometric authentication, identity matching, or any purpose other than generating the prediction you have requested.

Sensitive Data & Special Categories

Under data protection regulations (including GDPR), certain data we collect may be classified as special category data. We process this data solely based on your explicit consent, which you provide by voluntarily entering this information into the App. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the relevant data or your account.

• Genetic Trait Information: Physical trait data you provide (eye color, hair color, etc.) for predictions.
• Health Data: Mood logs, symptoms, EPDS scores, and postpartum recovery data.
• Biometric Data: Photos and optional 3D face scans used for predictions.

Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Export: Download your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw Consent: Opt out of non-essential data processing.
• Object: Object to certain types of data processing.

Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Cloud database, authentication, and edge functions. Your account data and prediction history are stored on Supabase servers.
• Google Gemini Vision API (Google LLC): Facial feature analysis for AI baby-appearance predictions. Parent photos and RGB captures from optional 3D face scans are transmitted over HTTPS via our Supabase Edge Function to Google Gemini Vision for extraction of facial features (eye shape, nose shape, lip shape, eyebrow thickness, face shape, skin tone, dimples). Google processes these images under the paid Gemini API terms, which prohibit use for advertising, identification, or foundation-model training. Images are not retained by Google after the API request completes.
• Runware (Primary): AI image generation for baby predictions. Derived trait data (and, where applicable, reference image URLs) are sent to Runware API for processing. Content is transmitted securely and is not stored for model training per our API agreement.
• Replicate (Secondary): Fallback AI provider for baby image generation when primary service is unavailable.
• Fal.AI (Tertiary): Additional fallback AI provider for baby image generation.
• Apple App Store (StoreKit 2): Payment processing for in-app purchases.
• Apple ARKit: On-device 3D face scanning technology. ARKit processes depth data locally on your device using Apple's frameworks.
• Firebase Analytics (Google): Anonymous app usage analytics to improve our services. No personal photos, health data, or genetic data is shared with Firebase.
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Crash reporting for stability improvements. Collects crash logs and device information when errors occur.

Children's Privacy

ProbaBaby is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

The predictions generated by our app are for entertainment and educational purposes. They are not intended to be used for any decisions regarding actual children.

Data Retention

• Account data is kept until you delete your account
• Prediction history is retained for your reference
• Original parent photos are deleted immediately after Google Gemini Vision analysis returns
• Derived facial feature values and prediction results: user-configurable retention window (24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, or 30 days), configurable in Settings > Privacy & Data. After the chosen period, this data is automatically purged from our servers
• Temporary processing data is deleted after prediction completion
• Upon account deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days
• Anonymous, aggregated data may be retained for analytics

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will provide more prominent notice, such as an in-app notification.
